A hybrid bus needed a timing gear to combine the electric motor generator and a diesel engine with the vehicle’s transmission.
Enmac designed and dimensioned the gear shafts, bearings, casting frame and other components based on the mesh loads received from the gear manufacturer. All parts were dimensioned according to the finite lifespan theory.
The durability target was achieved thanks to reasonably dimensioned and designed parts. The weight of the gear was significantly lower than the target.
