Expert services for safety and the environment – to support sustainable and safe business

Our safety and environmental experts help you fulfill the obligations of legislation and official requirements in various mechanical, plant and construction technical matters. Our HSEQ team consists of a multidisciplinary group of experts who not only manage the planning of their own specialty, but also the necessary technical documentation and are familiar with legislation and standards. In order to fulfill the obligations, various national and international laws related to safety and environmental protection must be taken into account, such as the Occupational Safety Act, the Electricity Act, the Environmental Protection Act and the Chemicals Act and many equipment directives, e.g. machinery, ATEX, PED directives and construction products regulation.

Comprehensive competence can be seen especially in our complete system delivery projects, where the product’s compliance, quality and suitability for the target are taken into account. Our experts work to support you in projects from the pre-planning phase of a new target and ensure that the authorities’ requirements are met during the commissioning phase. Our special expertise also includes managing the requirements of existing plants and machines, as well as ensuring the safety of employees, equipment and the environment.

With the help of the Prevas-Academy training program, we ensure the competence and continuous learning of the entire staff in terms of safety and environmental requirements, as well as technical expertise. The lessons are applied in all project tasks, and the expertise of Enmac’s personnel is available to you.

Our expert services for safety and the environment

Our machinery safety services focus on verifying the conformity of machines and machinery assemblies according to the Machinery Directive (2006/42 EC). The CE marking is the machine manufacturer’s visible proof of meeting safety requirements. We compile the CE documentation required for marking, which includes the actual design documentation such as manufacturing drawings and strength calculations. In addition to this, the other necessary documents of “technical file” are prepared such as risk assessment documents, the machine’s operating and maintenance instructions and the declaration of conformity.

In meeting the health and safety requirements according to the Machinery Directive, we use machine type-specific harmonized standards as help, where the presented solutions are applied in accordance with the risk assessment in the design phase. In risk assessment and

planning, we also take into account other directives that affect machine safety, such as ATEX (2014/34/EU) and PED (2014/68/EU), ,whose requirements are included as part of the technical documentation as defined by the device directive in question.

We are involved in securing your machine and act as support to ensure that safety and documentation requirements are met.

· Risk assessment
· Safety of control systems (PL and SIL)
· Machine instructions and spare parts lists
· Declaration of conformity
· Clarification of requirements and compilation of documentation
· Documentation of machine changes
· Inspections and testing

We ensure the safety of your industrial site by identifying risks using, for example, the HAZOP risk assessment method. Based on the risk assessment, we know how to select and allocate the right measures to achieve sufficient safety. We also offer engineering services for the management of extinguishing wastewater and chemical spills. Our main goal is to help you ensure the occupational safety of your site and reduce the risk of harmful environmental effects in compliance with chemical legislation. Our chemical and plant safety service offering includes, among other things:

· Management of chemical leakage and chemical loading and unloading stations (see our services).
· Risk assessments and management (e.g. HAZOP)
· Chemical safety clearance

We help you ensure the safety of your premises and production equipment when handling flammable and explosive substances. When the risk of explosion is present in the workplace, all processes in which combustible substances occur must be evaluated and the facilities intended for their handling must be classified. Before commissioning the facilities, an explosion protection document must be drawn up, which shows the explosion hazards of the workplace and the protective measures taken to prevent it.

We carry out electrical and mechanical design, equipment selection and installations for potentially explosive premises, and we ensure the safety of machines and process equipment in accordance with area classifications.

· Explosion protection document
· Area classifications
· Ignition risk assessment
· Electrical design, installations and documentation
· Machine and equipment design, installations and documentation

In connection with the acquisition and modification of production machines and equipment, new load-bearing structures are often needed near the site. The professional design and implementation of these structures are essential for operational safety and may require official supervision. We ensure that the steel and concrete structures associated with machine and equipment installations meet the requirements of the EU Construction Products Regulation (EU No. 305/2011). We offer help in all phases of a construction project – from the initial building permit process and planning to implementation, procurement and inspections. Our services cover:

· Building permits
· Cost calculation and estimates
· Design of steel and concrete structures in new and renovation projects
· Strength calculations according to Eurocodes
· Assessment and verification of structural compliance
· Site services and supervision

We ensure compliance with official requirements and help develop more sustainable solutions in compliance with the Environmental Protection Act (2014/527). The environmental impact of operations can be limited, for example, by choosing the materials and chemicals used, managing waste and wastewater, and increasing energy efficiency. A new requirement is the current EU’s CSR directive, which requires companies to be responsible and take steps to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

We also assess the environmental risks of your facilities and plan the necessary risk management measures. Environmental risks can be reduced with proactive and careful measures, such as appropriate management of extinguishing wastewater.

Our expertise includes, among other things, the following services:

· Emission calculation
· Environmental risk assessment and management of production facilities
· Extinguishing water management

The company’s energy assessment is a systematic procedure that provides sufficient information about the energy consumption profile of all the locations of the company. With the help of the assessement, opportunities for cost-effective energy savings are identified, the

amount of savings and savings measures are determined, and the results of the assessement are reported. Energy efficiency has many side benefits for the company, such as financial, production and operational, environmental and reputational benefits.

Our competent person in charge, authorized by the Energy Agency, makes sure that the mandatory energy audit of a large company, performed every four years, as well as target audits, are handled in accordance with the Energy Efficiency Act, the Government Decree and the general instructions of the Ministry of Labor and Economy (TEM).
