Coal-tar pitch

Challenge:

Plant and process design was needed for storing coal-tar pitch. The design had to take into account that the substance must be kept at a constant temperature above 180°C in order to remain fluid.

Solution:

Enmac designed new tanks, pipelines and train loading stations for demanding Nordic port conditions in accordance with the requirements.

Result:

The storage and loading of coal-tar pitch is possible while maintaining its fluidity, all year round. The design improved the ergonomics and safety of those working with coal-tar pitch, and made the future repair and expansion opportunities of tanks and pipelines easier.
